Breaking down laws, Supreme Court cases, and current issues so students can understand their rights and take action.
Hi my name is Francesca Fernandes, and I'm a student who is interested in law, advocacy, and public policy. I created The Informed Advocate to make laws, court case decisions, and rights more understandable to students and kids my age.
I've always been interested in how laws and decisions impact our everyday lives. But I realized that a lot of students don't fully understand their rights or how they can use their voice to create change.
This blog is dedicated to breaking down Supreme Court cases, public policy, and current issues in a way that is clear, engaging, and meaningful. More importantly, it's about turning that knowledge into action.
My goal is to empower students to understand their rights, think critically about the world around them, and feel confident speaking up and making a difference in their communities.
Legal concepts explained in plain language anyone can understand — no prior knowledge needed.
Every article is carefully researched and grounded in real law, policy, and court decisions.
Action is for everybody, not just adults. This blog gives you the knowledge to understand and implement change in your own community.
Built for students, advocates, and anyone who believes the law should work for everyone.
